**Context:** These OKRs cover the 6-week dev sprint and first 2 weeks of user testing. The goal is **hypothesis validation**, not broad growth.
### **Objective 1: Validate the core "frictionless capture" loop.**
_This Objective proves our core hypothesis: users will capture more insights if friction is near-zero. This is our North Star._
- **KR 1 (Engagement):** Achieve an average **Capture Rate** of > 2.0 (i.e., users save at least 2 items per session).
- **KR 2 (Habit Formation):** Achieve a **W1 Retention** rate of > 20% for the initial user cohort.
- **KR 3 (Frictionless Validation):** Achieve > 50% of all captures (words + quotes) being initiated from the **lock screen**.
### **Objective 2: Ship a stable, non-interruptive v1 demo that delights users.**
_This Objective focuses on execution and quality. A buggy app breaks the "non-interruptive" flow and invalidates the hypothesis._
- **KR 1 (Execution):** Launch the v1.0 build to the Play Store internal test track **within the 6-week timeline**.
- **KR 2 (Quality):** Maintain a **99.5%+ crash-free user rate** for the v1.0 app.
- **KR 3 (Accuracy):** Achieve a **Quote Accuracy** (non-deletion) rate of > 90%, validating the speech-to-text verification flow.
### **Objective 3: Validate that AI reflection drives continued engagement.**
_This Objective tests the second half of the hypothesis: captures need to go somewhere. If users see their reading patterns reflected back, do they capture more?_
- **KR 1 (AI Adoption):** Achieve > 40% of users with 3+ sessions generating at least one **Weekly Vibe**.
- **KR 2 (Reflection Loop):** Users who generate a Vibe have a **> 30% higher W2 retention** than users who don't.
- **KR 3 (Quality Signal):** Achieve a **> 4.0/5.0** average rating on a "Was this vibe insightful?" prompt after generation.
### **Objective 4: Establish a foundational feedback loop with our target users.**
_This Objective moves us from shipping to learning. The demo's purpose is to get qualitative feedback for a v2 roadmap._
- **KR 1 (User Acquisition):** Onboard **100+ active users** from our target communities (e.g., r/books, physical book readers).
- **KR 2 (Qualitative Insight):** Complete **10** 1-on-1 user interviews with users who have completed at least 3 sessions.
- **KR 3 (Quantitative Insight):** Achieve a **> 4.0/5.0** average rating on an in-app "How useful is this tool?" survey.

### Notes on Objective 3 (The AI Bet)
The AI feature isn't about being trendy. It's about solving the "write-only notes" problem.
Every capture app has the same failure mode: stuff goes in, nothing comes out. The user gets a dopamine hit from saving, but the saved content sits there unread. Eventually they stop saving because it feels pointless.
The Weekly Vibe is designed to break that cycle. It's not about summarizing your notes (you can read those yourself). It's about finding patterns you didn't notice. "You've been circling around themes of mortality this week." "Your vocabulary skews philosophical lately." "You're a marathon reader, not a sprinter."
If the AI can show users something they didn't already know about their reading, they'll keep feeding it. The reflection becomes the reason to capture.
This is the core bet. If it doesn't work, we pivot to a simpler "reading journal" model. If it does, we double down on the AI layer.

### MVP Phase Status (2026-02-08)
The original 8-week MVP OKRs above covered hypothesis validation. As of February 2026:
- **Objective 1 (Frictionless Capture):** Core loop validated. Architecture pivot from MediaSession to Quick Settings Tile completed. Lock screen capture works reliably.
- **Objective 2 (Stable V1 Demo):** Build stable, zero open bugs, Wrapped-style Vibe shipped. Play Store internal test track launch pending.
- **Objective 3 (AI Reflection):** Weekly Vibe live with structured output. Token efficiency achieved (~60-70% reduction). Safeguards prevent API spam. Validation data still accumulating.
- **Objective 4 (Feedback Loop):** 6 feedback sessions completed across 6 users, 46 items collected, 31 converted to backlog. Formal interview pipeline not yet established.
### 2026 Annual OKRs (Working Draft)
The next phase targets product-market fit and early traction. See [[The Product Diary#2026-02-08]] for full context.
**Objective 1: Prove that reflection drives retention.**
- KR1: Users who generate a Weekly Vibe retain at 2x the rate of non-generators (W4 retention)
- KR2: Vibe generation rate > 60% among users with 5+ sessions
- KR3: Vibe quality rating > 4.2/5.0 on in-app prompt
**Objective 2: Ship a v1 that earns word-of-mouth.**
- KR1: Public Play Store beta by end of Q1
- KR2: 500+ organic installs in first 60 days
- KR3: > 4.3 star rating with 50+ reviews
**Objective 3: Deepen the emotional layer.**
- KR1: Ship vibe-forward session descriptors (AI-generated, replacing metric badges)
- KR2: Ship session closure vibe prompt (emotional state capture at session end)
- KR3: Prototype and user-test the 2D vibe selection UI
**Objective 4: Build the feedback engine.**
- KR1: 25 user interviews with readers who have 10+ sessions
- KR2: Beta community (Discord or Reddit) with 100+ engaged members
- KR3: 3 structured A/B tests on vibe presentation formats
